I need to find a system. However, I do print photobooks 🙂 so I would still have them. I not the most computer savvy person, I would have to find an easy system that was easy and made sense to me.

I didn’t realize the programs were so different till I tried making the blankety blank cover and ran into tons of problems. Text boxes wouldn’t fit where I wanted them and other delights. Interested to know – nearly 2 years hence, whether you are still using both programs? Carol, Peaches and Paprika

I started a new book and frustration quickly drove me to discard it and start over in BookSmart. Thanks for the input.

Probably due to familiarity but the design layout of bookwright is a pain!!

Comment on Artifact Uprising Photo Book Review by Stacey Wiseman https://www.bookthisproject.com/2014/01/artifact-uprising-photo-book-review/#comment-31304 Wed, 20 Sep 2017 16:34:20 +0000 https://www.bookthisproject.com/?p=5822#comment-31304 Hi Preston! Thanks so much for checking out this post. Yes, I do love my Artifact Uprising photo books. They have more of a matte finish to the printing quality and paper feel. I’ve never used InDesign for an AU book, however, I’m assuming it can be done. I would export out as jpeg and I’m thinking you will have to export each individual page (not spread).

Make sure you get the page spec properly set up in your .indd file. You may want to check with customer support with AU before you get started.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!

I am an art student and I am trying to make a book of illustrated poetry. I’ve looked at several online printing companies such as blurb, and smartpress, and I’ve just recently stumbled on Artifact Uprising. As far as an illustrated book goes is Artifact Uprising (AU) any good? For instance in terms of layout can I lay things out in InDesign as a PDF and simply have them print my book?
Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a great day.
